Founded in 2001, Beijing ZhongXian TuoFang Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. is owned by the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China, being a high technology enterprise in the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park. It passed ISO9000 certification in 2007. With the digital publishing as its core business, the company strives to develop data processing, digital printing, and publishing on demand. After relocated to Yizhuang--Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone in 2006, the company expanded quickly. Now it owns over 600 employees, large plants of more than 10,000 square meters and a a dormitory building.
Concerning data processing, the company can finish over 100,000 pages every working day (transforming the image documents into XML documents at an error rate below 1/10000). Regarding digital publishing, the company can print more than one million pages (A4) every working day. Each year hundreds kinds of new books are published in the way of POD by the Editing Center of the company.
After setting up its first OCR data processing line in 2001, the company, over the years, has gradually formed its core competitiveness and technology advantages of digital processing on scientific and technical literature, ancient literature, books and periodicals through its independent R&D, and thus became one of the leading digital publishing specialized organizations which have great potential and influence both home and abroad. In 2008, based on the OCR product line, the company successfully developed a processing platform for digital publishing, which allowed processing and manufacturing all kinds of paper documents, electronic documents and typeset files into suitable contents for digital publishing. The platform includes process management system and quality control system, enabling the production staff and administrative staff to organize and manage the processing project through the process management system. The production operation goes in the form of assembly line, which guarantees a smooth manufacturing procedure according to the process flow. The quality control system, which runs through all the production procedures, monitors the quality of products from every manufacturing procedure all the time. The platform can manufacture single/double layer e-books of PDF, XML, EPUB format with high efficiency, which are readable with mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablet computers.
The company has completed most of the major domestic data processing project, and gained great achievements. The project "China multilingual external publicity books database" launched by China International Book Trading Corporation, digitizing many kinds of books, and forming the database of graphic files, TXT and XML formats. Undertake the "digital processing of foreign patent literature" project of State Intellectual Property Office, completing the digitalizing and standardized transforming of patent documentation data of America, EPO, German, France, Russia, Japan, Spain and so on.
Undertake the "digitizing of the database of ideological and theoretical resources of the Communist Party of China and books of communication program" project of General Administration of Press and Publication, exactly forming the PDF files and corresponding XML files of the original form with the error rate within 1/10,000, some of which are required to be under 1/30,000.
Undertake the first stage of the project "books of Shanghai edition digitizing" of the Press and Publication Bureau of Shanghai, generating double layer PDF files which are proofread accurately and corresponding EPUB files. The preparation of the second stage is in progress now.
The company undertook the project of "database processing of China Digital Publishing Network", completing the digital processing of more than 5,000 kinds of books. The second stage of processing is in progress now.
Undertake the "Foreign Language Abstract and Citation Processing" Project, which deals with the original database, abstract, scanning of all the quotation, identification of OCR(error rate within 1/100,000) and the XML identification of 6,000 plus foreign periodicals (including English, Japanese, Russian, French etc.) Moreover, it demands a synchrony between the processing and the publication.
At the end of 2011, Chinese Academy of Science granted project of "Database Processing of Vocabulary of Documents Intelligence Center" to our company, which required the database processing of complicated entry in English, Japanese and Chinese dictionaries and foreign dictionaries on pharmacy and medicine etc., and the end products in the form of TXT, PDF, XML.

Printing on demand of Chinese Patent Documentation: Due to a huge number of varieties and a small batch of printings of the Patent Documentation, the application of digital printing on publication of patent gazette and patent introductions as paper carriers will meet the individual needs of customers and realize the customized network of patent documentation printing services.
Duplicating books of the Republic of China: Via cooperating with university libraries, about ten thousand copies of books during the Republic China have been selected to provide the digital copying service for over 100 foreign university libraries.
Printing of short-run books and out-of-print books: By building the long-term cooperation relationship with about ten publishing houses, printing on demand has obtained a remarkable development. The company has established out-of-print books database for China Astronautic Publishing House, which perfectly meets the readers' requirements on professional books, in ways of "selling before printing" and "printing as needed". Undertaking the project of printing a series books called Series of historical sources in Early Republic China (about 2,100 species, over 100,000 copies) has been the most classic work of POD (Printing on Demand).
Libraries' collection supplement: The company has attempted to supplement the collection of libraries, including various kinds of books, such as water conservancy and hydropower, HIV prevention, Deng Xiaoping theory, etc.

With the support of General Administration of Press and Publication, the company has activated the project of publishing on demand in 2004, and set corporation relationship with hundreds of libraries, universities and research institutions. Publishing on demand and re-publishing a great amount of books, and realizing sustainable publication printing, including Mao Dun's Translation Articles Collection, Yu Guangyuan 's "My Four Theories On Consumer Goods" ,Su Yu's " Memoirs of the War", etc. Wang Xuan, famous scientist, former vice-president of National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; former vice president of China Association for Science and Technology, Professor of Beijing University, set a extremely high evaluation on this project, saying "it is the pursuit of publishing industry over a long period of time, it is the publishing target that the author and the reader are dreaming about".
